GSM = Grams per Square Metre
GSM measures how much one square metre of fabric weighs in grams. A higher number means a denser, heavier fabric; a lower number means lighter and thinner.
T-Shirt GSM Guide
- 120–150 GSM: very light, often slightly see-through. Common in cheap promotional tees.
- 160–180 GSM: the ideal everyday weight — breathable for summer but not see-through.
- 190–220 GSM: mid to heavyweight. Feels premium, drapes well and is perfect for oversized fits.
- 240+ GSM: very heavy, structured streetwear tees.
Hoodie GSM Guide
- 240–280 GSM: light hoodies for mild winters and layering.

Is Higher GSM Always Better?
